Ouagadougou Deaf School

While visiting the deaf school in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, we had the pleasure of interacting with the children everyday. They are a motivation to be around as they have open minds to be taught and are so excited to have people around to be with them. They give so much of themselves to everyone who come to see them.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves for the rights of all who are destitute.”                                                                           Proverbs 31:8

  1. My husband went on a missions trip to this school in 2008. The men in his team built a building for the school. I remember hearing from Pastor Michelle that the children were amazed that these strangers would love them so much that they would give up their comfortable lives in the States to come take care of their school. I tell you this because the child in the far back, hardly to be seen, on the right side of the photo is signing “I love you.” In all the photos my husband brought back, there was always a child signing these sentiments. They were so happy to feel loved after experiencing so much rejection. They loved back openly, beautifully. It touched our souls. God bless these people!
